Story Reinvents Itself with New Festival Format

Story ConferenceThe annual STORY Conference in downtown Chicago has announced a new festival format for its next event held on September 18-20, 2013.

In the spirit of great festival experiences such as SXSW and the Sundance Film Festival, STORY is doing away with just one venue and moving to host sessions in five locations in the River North district. This will enable attendees to see more of the city and experience some of the best venues Chicago has to offer.

These venues include the House of Blues, the historic Chicago Cathedral, the Museum of Broadcast Communications, the Ivy Room and the Gene Siskel Film Center. The venues are within easy walking distance for attendees.

STORY is a gathering of 1,000 creatives from all over the country. The purpose of the event is to create a place where they can be inspired and learn from the leaders of creative industries. This year’s presenters include NPR Radiolab’s Jad Abumrad, advertising icon Alex Bogusky, designer Chuck Anderson and the founder of charity: water Scott Harrison, along with creative leaders from companies such as Nike, Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Imagineering and Google.

The theme for STORY 2013 is “A Sense of Place,” which speaks not only to the power of environment but also each person’s unique contribution to the world. Tickets are now on-sale for the event.
