Join Rick and Kay Warren In the Fight Against Mental Illness

Matthew WarrenDear Friends,

Kay and I have been overwhelmed by your outpouring of love since Matthew’s tragic death. You are true friends, especially with the vitriol from haters we’ve received. Friends show up when others walk away.

If you missed what happened, click here to read my letter.

You’ve asked, “Is there anything we can do to help you?”

The answer is yes! We could use your help right now in THREE PRACTICAL WAYS:

1. Sign a petition that urges educators, lawmakers, healthcare, and congregations to raise the awareness and lower the stigma of mental illness, and also to support families that are dealing with mental illness on a daily basis. Thanks for adding your voice!

2. Offer your help and prayers to those around you who are caring for mentally ill family and friends. They need your encouragement more than you realize

3. Fight mental illness with an online gift to The Matthew Warren Fund for Mental Health. Your gift is tax-deductible. Or, you may mail a check to

    Dear Rick,

I am a Pastor who walked into one of your services at Saddleback during one of the darkest seasons of my life, and cried through the whole service. God used you, your church and your ministry to revive and restore my hope and passion for the church. Please know that my wife and I can’t get you and Kay off our minds and that we have been praying for you constantly as you work through what is doubtless one of the darkest seasons any of us could ever face.

We love you guys and will continue to hold you up in prayer.

Thank you for being a faithful servant through it all!

Dear pastor Rick ,Thanks so much for your words to the ARC conference in Jacksonville , FL this week.Even in the midst of this you find time for others and to demonstrate to us how we can find the comfort and direction of the Holy Spirit in even the darkest of times. Thank You for loving us and standing true and demonstrating strength.

Dear Warren family, I feel so sad and tears are shed for you all for what happened to Matthew. He is with the Lord, this is a consolation for your hearts and soul, but someway we want to keep our loved ones close to us, and so you must miss him greatly. Matthew was God’s given gift to the Warrens family as he was, just a other jewel with his own beauty, with, like you Rick says, a purpose. My prayers for you and your family is that he didn’t live in vain, and didn’t die in vain. Something beautiful and meaningful will come out of this tragedy and lots of other people will profit from it.
I thank you Ps. Rick and Kay for your teachings, for all you have done for me, without knowing me, for your commitment to bring the Word of God in such a clear and practical way. Lots of love, and the Lord’s protection over you all.

Dear Pastor Rick :I and my family are so shocked and sad to hear about Matthew’s tragic death. As he told you in a conversation that he will go to the paradise, I’m sure he’s there now with our LORD Jesus. Be sure that we’ll meet Matthew again when we leave this world. Your brother in Christ Duong Ngoc Cu. Vietnam.
