The Purpose Driven Life Seminar

The message of The Purpose Driven Life by pastor Rick Warren has been a wonderful tool to reach out to non-Christians and Christians alike.  The book (ISBN 0-310-20571-9) has been translated into over 60 languages.  The PDL Seminar is a teaching based on the message that can be easily presented in as little as 1 to 3-5 hours, depending on how much detail or stories you wish to include.  It has been used worldwide by short term mission teams as an effective way to bring the characteristics of a disciple to life.  It has been used by a wide variety of people - pastors and leaders, government and business leaders - as a discussion tool with their staff.

The seminar is based on Rick's presentation of the message at the May 2003 annual Purpose Driven Conference.  The downloads section below contains everything needed to teach this seminar.  It also includes files to professionally print your own student notebooks and to make a CD for free distribution to other pastors and leaders.  It is our hope that you will use this empowering tool to teach these concepts in your church, on your mission trips or wherever you have influence - because we all have the same goal, reaching people worldwide for Christ and helping them live the life of purpose for which God designed them.

Seminar downloads - multiple languages

    The files presented are:

• Teaching Notes - This document is for the teacher of the seminar and contains the Teaching Transcript with "teaching tips."  The Student Outline and PowerPoint references are also built into this document.  There is a "Note to the Teacher" section at the beginning of the notes explaining layout and notations.  These are provided in both 8 1/2" x 11" and A4 formats to accomodate the duplication processes used globally.
  
  
• Student Outline - The Student Outline with blanks for fill-ins to be replicated by the host venue for those attending the seminar.  It is provided in two formats:  full sheet (for used at a seminar) and booklet formats (for teaching in the field via small groups or for easy distribution).  The booklet format is supported by a professionally designed cover.  The Student Outline contains an answer key at the end of the material.
  
  
• PowerPoint Presentation - This file contains slides for all the scripture references as well as the student fill-ins.  The answers are animated to appear on a mouse click.
  
  
• SHAPE - This is an "add-on" session that can be taught after the Purpose Driven Life Seminar.  The teaching notes for the Seminar briefly touch on the concept of SHAPE, however, if the culture where you are teaching is not familiar with the concepts of SHAPE as taught in the Purpose Driven Church paradigm, this session expands on it and can be easily taught within one hour.  Included are a teaching transcript, student notes, and a supporting slide presentation
  

You are welcome to place all these files on a CD to give to others who also want to teach the PDL Seminar.  A graphic file to make a CD label is also included. This seminar is also in other languages; it is our hope to continue developing additional languages.
