    Matthew 6:33-34
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

As a pastor – one has to obey and serve Christ 1st… even as he tends His “flock”. Each parish is also not a unified “body”. Some might desire rapid change – others may desire NO change what-so-ever. ( or even a return to things that others “changed” before the current “leadership” arrived.) What one does as a pastor (shepherd) of Christ Jesus, must first be soaked in prayer and spiritual direction from God above.

Pastor’s do not just serve the “will of the people”… but according to the desires and directions of the Lord. ( So we have been taught to pray, “Thy kingdom come… Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”) God’s specific WILL is not always easy to discern in any particular situation… but His commandments and Gospel always are in effect – not matter what one’s own personal preferences. And as pastors seek God’s kingdom and His will… they ought to be reminded that doing the right thing – the godly thing- is NOT always the popular thing. Jesus did the Father’s will… and many left Him and grumbled against Him. They even crucified Him! ( Did He move “too fast” or “too slowly”… ?! )

God help those who serve and lead in His Church – they need His help and our prayers. Let God’s Word then be our guide…. Matthew 6:33-34

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

And when they speak to us from His unchanging Word of Truth – they need our support.
