Ignoring the Law of Diminishing Returns. If you are in a church culture where 20 minutes is the prime time for the speaking-listening relationship and you insist on going for 30 minutes, the people will begin to struggle at 22-23 minutes, go into survival mode a bit past that, and by 25-27 minutes they begin to lose what they received in the first 20. Keep going and they will lose it all and even go into emotional deficit.
